To make ginseng tea
Dried ginseng root has been the most commonly available form of Canadian
ginseng. The most popular ways of consuming ginseng root are as an infusion.
To prepare as an ginseng by putting 1-3 gams of dry whole or sliced ginseng
root with 24 ounces of water and boil for 5-10 minutes, preferably in
a non-metallic container such as an enamel or porcelain pot. You can boil
longer if you prefer.
Reduce the flame and simmer covered for about 10-20 minutes. You can
add honey for better taste. The ginseng tea is ready to serve.
To make enough for several days increase the amounts proportionately.
The tea can be safely stored in a refrigerator for up to several weeks,
and reheated if desired on the stove or in a microwave.
To make soup
The dried roots can also be sliced for consumption in combination with
other foods such as pork and chicken
