Reflexology

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a method of stimulation reflexes in the foot, hand or ear that correspond to specific glands, organs or parts of the body. Stimulation of these reflex points results in heightened Qi circulation, allowing harmony to return to the body. It is believe that due to modern foot wear, these points are no longer exposed to the natural stimulation they had once received, due to this most practitioners tend to concentrate on the feet.

Limitations of Reflexology

The practice of reflexology is not intended to cure disease or diagnose ailments. Reflexologists are not certified to diagnose or treat ailments, however, reflexology is essential in the treatment of stress related conditions and pain management. Medical research has shown that a majority of health conditions may be linked to heightened levels of stress and tension. Reflexology offers a comprehensive, holistic and natural method of stress management intended to heighten your body's response to its own internal demands.

Benefits of Reflexology

Among the known and documented benefits of reflexology is enhanced immune system activity through the augmentation of blood circulation, as well as relief from stress/tension, and assisting lymph drainage. As reflexology is a non-invasive procedure, it does not produce any negative effects. However, the effects of toxin drainage from the lymph glands have, on rare occasions, been known to produce symptoms such as perspiration, nausea or headaches. These effects are not directly related to the treatment itself, producing mild, temporary effects only.
